Pierre Gruber Meursault Blanc 2021 (750ml)
Country/ Region:
Meursault, Burgundy, France
Background:
Created in 1964, Maison Pierre Gruber has been the cornerstone of Domaine Jean-Luc & Paul Aegerter’s Burgundian activities since 1988.
Winemaking:
The 2021 Pierre Gruber Meursault Blanc is a premium 100% Chardonnay from Burgundy. The winemaking follows classic white Burgundy methods: gentle pneumatic pressing of hand-harvested grapes, native fermentation, and extended aging in French oak barrels (incorporating a measured proportion of new oak) to build its signature rich, buttery, and toffee-hazelnut texture.
Grapes: 100% Chardonnay
Tasting note:
The colouris a brilliant yellowgold, with a hint of green. The nose fresh and buttery, revealing citrus aromas, enhanced by fine woody notes. The finish is long, dry and fine, marked by fruity hints and a touch of hazelnut. A dry Meursault, well made, with the promise of a great future.
Food Pairing:
It pairs beautifully with seafood and pultry like king prawns in garlic butter, buttery sole meunière, Roast Bresse chicken, turkey served in a creamy white reduction or mushroom sauce.
