Albert Glas Riesling Spatlese 2024 (750ml)
Country/ Region:
Pfalz, Germany
Background:
Weingut Albert Glas is a family-owned German winery in the southern Palatinate (Pfalz) region, established in 1958. Now managed by third-generation winemaker Dominik Glas, the estate has grown from 2.5 to nearly 20 hectares. Their portfolio balances traditional craftsmanship with modern viticulture.
Winemaking:
The grapes are left to ripen on the vine for roughly two weeks longer than standard grapes, resulting in higher natural sugar content and concentrated flavors. The crushed grapes are allowed to rest in their own juice for several hours. This cold-maceration step extracts maximum aroma and texture from the berry skins. To achieve the signature off-dry (halbtrocken/Spätlese) style, the winemaker abruptly cools the tanks to roughly 7°C. This stops the yeast from converting all the sugar into alcohol, leaving a delicate natural sweetness.
Grapes: Riesling
Tasting note:
This wine has lots of fruits flavors such as peach, lemon, and apple with characteristics of honey and candy. It is very delicacy and balanced wine.
Food Pairing:
