Domaine de la Ville Rouge 2022 Rouge (750ml) IGP
*Bio-dynamic Wine
Country/ Region:
Crozes-Hermitage, France
Background:
Established in 1919, Domaine de la Ville Rouge sits on the banks of the Rhône River in the Crozes-Hermitage AOC, an area famous for producing wine with explosive, complex flavor profiles. They’ve organically farmed the vineyards since 2009 and converted to biodynamic in 2013, which helps translate the region’s authentic aromas and flavors into your glass.
Winemaking:
Since converting to biodynamic agriculture in 2013, the estate ensures their grapes are grown with zero synthetic chemicals, relying solely on natural preparations to maintain vine health and soil vitality. The winemaking is non-interventionist. No chemical additives are used during fermentation and aging.
Grapes: 25% merlot, 25% pinot noir, 25% syrah, 25% marsellan
Tasting note:
Cherry, apple and strawberry flavors, with a hint of herbal and grassy notes. It is a light but refreshing red wine without any oak influence, which is ideal wine in summer.
Food Pairing:
The wine's vibrant fruit, floral notes, and delicate spice also make it an excellent, unexpected match for grilled fish or lightly sauced pastas. For example, grilled tnua, salmon or mushroom risotto.
